Springtime News on the Upper East Side

Recently renovated, after a 15 month & 12-million-dollar investment, the iconic Belvedere Castle is open to be explored. Located in mid-park at 79th Street, Spring hours are 10 AM to 5 PM. The name “Belvedere”, translated from Italian, signifies “beautiful view” and allows visitors stunning vistas of Central Park. The balconies offer glimpses of the Great Lawn, Turtle Pond and the Delacorte Theater. Originally designed in 1865, the castle showcases Victorian era opulence and architecture. Today the inside of the castle homes a vast collection of historical artifacts but when looking out, guests are often impressed with birth watching opportunities to see hawks and kestrels.
