The Surrey is thrilled to announce that media darling and celebrated fashionista Claire Distenfield, is the latest to join the ranks of our contributing culture connoisseurs. The innovative creator of Five Story will periodically be giving us her point of view on all things forward and fashion. Fresh from the shows, she shared a page out of her stylebook.
Active wear is becoming ready to wear. “Dressing up,” or “dressing down, ” as a concept is fading fast, think swimsuits as tops or resort wear. Loving the increasing multi-functional nature of fashion and Five Story is hoping to be a major player in this category. Lots of burgundies and red this season. Mix it up as a neutral or go monotone with it.
The jumpsuit craze is alive and well. And we have definitely bought into it. But this time around we have both sexy and conservative styles, knowing our clients run the gamut.
Wide leg cropped pants are still a winner, paired with a tight gold Rosetta Gerry lame turtleneck. Loving seventies lamé right now—and the off shoulder neckline is a must.
Lastly, hair Jewelry might just become the accessory of the movement. Jewelers seem to be discovering the next sparkle frontier with beautiful combs and headbands.
Designers Claire Adores
Rosetta Getty, a fairly new designer from LA. And unbearably elegant separates.
Shoes by Paul Andrew, one of her favorite American designers. He is singlehandedly bringing back the glory of shoes to the U.S, one sexy leg at a time.
Paula Mendoza’s new earring collection based on Alexander Calder’s mobiles—so light and simple, but incredibly interesting to look at.
Swimwear by Lisa Marie Fernandez and Prism from London.
Five Story is very excited to be carrying all these lines.
