FAILE is a Brooklyn-based artistic collaboration between Patrick McNeil (born 1975, Edmonton, Alberta) and Patrick Miller (born 1976, Minneapolis, Minnesota). Since its inception in 1999, FAILE has been known for a wide-range multimedia practice recognizable for its explorations of duality through a fragmented style of appropriation and collage. They utilize the idea of high and low culture and include both overt and covert language that comments on today’s society. Language is always included in their work either symbolically or through appropriated means that alludes to cultural concepts as if by accident referred to in the works. Their most recent collaborate effort was an independent exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum (2015).
