Art at The Surrey
Where Museum Mile meets Madison Avenue lies an unusual and authentic art collection by modern masters at The Surrey. Interior Architect Lauren Rottet drew inspiration for the design behind the Upper East Side’s newly recreated Surrey hotel from the nostalgic allure of black and white photographs. Following a 60 million dollar recreation in late 2009 The Surrey reopened its doors to reveal a black, white, cream and sepia space, which melds traditional sophistication with a modern personality. The hotel’s impressive art collection includes 31 original modern art works dispersed throughout the private and public spaces. We invite you to join us for a curated visual tour of some of The Surrey’s most impressive pieces.
